Western Maryland constructed two trailer or "slug" units at the Hagerstown
shops.
Unit 138-T was constructed from the ALCO frame of retired S1 unit number
102 in November of 1962 with Blunt trucks which were later replaced with
AAR type A trucks from retired VO 1000 number 130 in 1967. This unit
worked mostly with the baldwin roadswitchers and was finallly coupled to
BL-2 81.
Unit 139-T was constructed in March of 1955 on a frame acquired from
Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton, and Blomberg trucks. This unit was eventualy
coupled to BL-2 number 82.
