He married K(c)atherine A. Krieger (daughter of August Krieger and Katherine Oeffinger). She was born in Altoona on 23 Dec 1891, and died on 30 Sept 1980. John died 9 Sept 1964. They are both buried at Calvary Cemetary, Altoona.

born in Altoona on 12 June 1917. She married Frederick A. Yost (son of Harry Martin Yost and Esther May Courter) on 30 Dec 1939. Frederick was born 17 April 1912, and died 20 Nov 1991, both in Altoona. Catherine died 15 April 1994 in Altoona. They are both interred at the Calvary Mausoleum in Altoona.
