Avoiding a reverse Loop

This track layout creates what is know as a reverse loop. In the two rail train world this can
burn up transformers.  Provisions must be made in the form of insulators (I use toothpicks)
to isolate the sections of the track so that rail 'a' does not connect to rail 'b'.  Thomas Barkers
book 'AF repair and operating manual' has a good tutorial on this type of relay hook up.

A simple solution is to adjust the layout slightly to avoid the reverse loop situation.

Note: these drawings were made using mechanical drafting software (Autocad LT)
This layout would be approximately 8x5.
