Train Layouts

This page showcases my layouts and projects (dioramas) in their various stages of construction.

Dorm Layout. This is an N-scale layout I am building while attending college. The layout is on Plywood. Give dimensions here.

Well this is my Nscale layout so far. Lacking a terminal track Not pictured is power pack.(November 10, 2004) This shot shows most of my rolling stock and showcases the piece of track i needed (Terminal Track) This shot also showcases the split between planks of plywood, and in the bottom right a placed power pack. (January 18, 2005)
Again this shot shows the terminal track. Note: Look at where the split in the plywood is in relation to the track joints. (January 18, 2005) This picture shows the start of my MoW (Maintenance of Way) scene. The track is KATO. The Grove Hi-rail crane is a Railway Express Miniature models. The rails are small plastic I-beams found in the Architectual supply store on campus. The relay house was made by burt industiries, and is not yet completed. The Hayes wheelstops are made by tomar industries. The wheelstops and grove crane are superdetailed. (February 10, 2005.)

My Future Plans:
(February 11, 2005) In order to start senicing this layout and to make it more durable, I plan on replacing the plywood base. When I first created it, I wanted it in two sections, but I know realize that It would be fine with one whole piece. It will be a little harder to work into the shelf, but will do. I will extend the new plywood so as to give the curve more room. I planned the radius fine, but forgot to allow for the KATO pre-formed roadbed. I also plan to add 2x2 cleats on the edges so I can add a plexi glass fascia. I intend to do this to keep trains from falling to their doom.
