MoPac Motorcars & Doodlebugs
The
Missouri Pacific and her subsidiaries commonly employed the Sykes-built
motorcars (aka "Doodlebugs") on some local passenger runs. These
were originally built as gas-mechanical, then in 1927 and '29, these were
rebuilt at MP's Sedalia shops to gas-electrics. They also recieved a new
look on their fronts with a large grill and heavy snowplow.
Some
doodlebugs tugged a baggage-mail car built to accomadate this purpose.
