V 8.5
The most impressive part of the new Soo Line Yamaska subdivision is the Fond du Lac peninsula. This alone will make the entire layout a 'Little Jewel' to paraphrase the book title. The engine terminal will service the Cardigan Jct yard.
Trains will go a long time before passing on their own tracks again.
This is basically a single track folded dogbone type layout. The two ends of the dogbone are at the Marquette peninsula. Several long sidings will permit meets and allow operating industrial areas without getting on the main line.
Many parts of the main line are hidden from view so trains don't appear to go around a circle.
Now that I've decided on the layout, I will be concentrating on setting elevations, turnouts and benchwork.
