Saturday, October 7 was the date of "Day in North America" - 2006. Sponsored by
Railroads Illustrated Magazine, "Day in North America" is held on a different date each year.
On that specific date, photographers throughout North America are encouraged to document trains and rail operations,
and then submit the photos for a special issue of the magazine. I spent part of the morning
of October 7 in Saginaw and Fort Worth before heading to south Texas to start my
vacation. (See photos below.)

Unfortunately, I missed the submission deadline to send these to Railroads Illustrated
Magazine, so this is likely the only place you'll see them... an internet exclusive! Hope
