Winter in Texas - it's pretty rare that I have the opporunity to photograph "winter railroading" in the
Lone Star State. This shot -- one of my favorite winter photos -- was taken along the BNSF
Panhandle Subdivision (former Santa Fe) west of Panhandle, Texas (between Amarillo and Pampa)
in January, 2001. Highway traffic slowly negotiates icy U.S. Highway 60 as a westbound BNSF stack train
cruises along at track speed.
