In one of my all-time favorite black and white photos, Southern Pacific B39-8 8001 leads an eastbound stack train on the SP Valentine District -- as it was known at the time -- near Altuda, Texas on November 6, 1993. Altuda is the second of three sidings between Alpine and Marathon.
