Proof that things are not always what they seem is the train in this photograph. That's an ATSF C40-8W, all right -- but it's leading northbound BN train 78 on UP rails -- specifically, over the UP Waxahachie Subdivision near Lancaster, Texas, over which BN had trackage rights between Waxahachie and Dallas. Photographed September 17, 1993.
