Placed atop one of the walls in every dispatching cubicle is this yellow light, which is activated by an emergency (911) call coming into the dispatcher's radio. An incoming emergency call from the field will cause the light to flash and will also trigger a shrill beeping sound, hopefully attracting the attention of a dispatcher who may be away from his workstation and is elsewhere on the floor.
