Wichita, Tillman, & Jackson

Wichita, Tillman & Jackson operates approximately 100 miles of trackage in the Red River Valley region of north Texas and southwestern Oklahoma. Principal traffic is grain, agricultural commodities, and chemicals.

WTJR's line extends northwest from Wichita Falls (where it connects with BNSF) into Oklahoma, connecting with Farmrail, BNSF, and the Hollis & Eastern at Altus, Oklahoma; and with Grainbelt at Frederick, OK. WTJR also operates a branch line (disconnected from the rest of its system) that runs 24 miles west to Walters, Oklahoma from a connection with UP's Duncan Subdivision at Waurika.

WTJR's engine house and headquarters are located in Wichita Falls, Texas. WTJR's locomotive roster consists entirely of ex-Santa Fe and ex-CNW GP7s.

WTJR westbound at Wichita Falls Photographed on July 3, 1997, this westbound Wichita, Tillman & Jackson empty grain train, led by GP7s 4451 and 4443, has stalled pulling out of the north end of the Wichita Falls yard. They were really in a bad spot, as they were also unable to shove back into the yard, and required assistance from a UP local that was making delivery to the WTJR. After reducing their train, they'll try it again...
