Info on the Missouri & Valley Park:
The Missouri & Valley Park Railroad operates former BNSF trackage in the Valley Park, MO and Fenton, MO areas. They serve several industries in the area with their biggest customer being the Diamler-Chrysler Auto Plant in Fenton, MO. BNSF sold the Fenton, MO line to American Railroads Corp. in _____ after losing the Chrysler Plant as a customer. Chrysler was disappointed with BNSF's service and decided to ship its completed product through Union Pacific. Vehicles were loaded on to trucks at Fenton and taken to East St. Louis, IL where they were transloaded on to railroad cars. American Railroads Corp. formed the Missouri and Valley Park RR to operate this newly acquired track. ARC/M&VP was able to win back some of Chrysler's business, mainly delivering auto frames and various parts associated with the manufacture of vehicles, however the finished vehicles are still currently trucked to UP in E. St. Louis. Other customers the M&VP serves are 84 Lumber in Valley Park, and a sand/gravel quarry just outside of Valley Park. They also have a storage yard where they store rail cars of various types for different owners, this includes about 100 former Amtrak boxcars.
