This section was set up on May 19, 1999.


The Bloomer Line operates in northeastern Illinois, serving several grain shippers. Its locomotives are painted in a Chinese Red scheme reminiscent of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy. The photos in this section were all taken on April 23, 1999.


Bloomer Line 91 leads a southbound train between Collum and Charlotte.

TT2401


At Charlotte (pronounced with the accent on the second syllable) we find another train with Bloomer GP10 7561 working the Coop elevator.

Bloomer GP10 7549 is backed against 7561 at Charlotte, combining the two trains for the southbound run.

The combined train, with Bloomer's entire roster of Geeps on the point, heads south from Charlotte.

Geep 91 leads the train as it sweeps along a curve north of Chatsworth.
