It looks kinda wierd seeing Burlington Northern green in the desert of California. An eastbound is led past the station in Needles by SD60M 9288 (10/4/98).

Near Klinefelter, California, we find three units in the "Heritage II" colors leading an eastbound over a small bridge. BNSF 4760 leads two new sisters (10/4/98).

Between Ibis and Arrowhead Junction, California, the westbound main makes a wide bow while the eastbound main makes a much sharper curve. BNSF Dash 9-44CW 1105 leads a westbound through the bow (10/4/98).

Santa Fe Dash 9-44CW 712 leads a westbound through Homer, California, on the shoulder of old Route 66. This location was named for Homer Simpson (just joking) (9/30/98).
