Old Route 66 is making its way between Kingman and Seligman in the background as Santa Fe SD40-2 6900 heads up a Kingman-bound train along the bluffs near Valentine, Arizona (9/30/98).

TT0816

The Santa Fe leaves Arizona at Topock, crossing the Colorado River into California. "Goat boat" Dash 9-44CW 1105 leads a westbound into the Golden State (10/4/98).

TT0817

It looks kinda wierd seeing Burlington Northern green in the desert of California. An eastbound is led past the station in Needles by SD60M 9288 (10/4/98).

TT0818

Near Klinefelter, California, we find three units in the "Heritage II" colors leading an eastbound over a small bridge. BNSF 4760 leads two new sisters (10/4/98).

TT0819

Between Ibis and Arrowhead Junction, California, the westbound main makes a wide bow while the eastbound main makes a much sharper curve. BNSF Dash 9-44CW 1105 leads a westbound through the bow (10/4/98).

TT0820

Santa Fe Dash 9-44CW 712 leads a westbound through Homer, California, on the shoulder of old Route 66. This location was named for Homer Simpson (just joking) (9/30/98).
