Continuing with the October 2, 1999, festivities, the excursion continued south to Mott Haven Junction, where once again it was turned on the wye. Coming back north, with NYC 2012 still on the point, the train exited Breakneck Ridge near Cold Spring, New York.

Once again, the units ran around the train at Beacon. With NYC 2013 back in the lead, the pair popped out of the Breakneck Ridge tunnels, a classic New York Central location.

After the October 2nd outings, the FL9s were next pressed into service for a Metro-North inspection trip on October 7th. With 2013 in the lead, the pair emerge from the famous rock cut at Spuyten Duyvil.

We end where we started, at Irvington. NYC 2012 leads the southbound inspection train along the Hudson River.
