Although its startup has been rocky, Acela represents Amtrak's efforts to enter the new century.  Like all new technologies, the bugs will be worked out and the Northeast Corridor will soon have passenger service comparable to that presently enjoyed in Europe and Japan.  Seen here at Boston's South Station during the first day of revenue operation.
