SALT LAKE
&
WESTERN RY
The Salt Lake & Western RY, a UP subsidiary, was organized in 1881. The line started two miles north of Lehi at Lehi Junction and headed SW through Cedar Fort, Fairfield, over 5 Mile Pass, through Topliff and over Boulter Pass to the Tintic mining area.
The next stage of the line was to start at 5 Mile Pass and follow the Pony Express route to Ely, NV, then on to California. Nothing was done on the line by 1889 when the OSL mergers took place. The road was merged into the SP,LASL in 1902.
