The Washington Association of Rail Passengers just lost another member. This page is dedicated to those who just passed away and were dedicated to the cause of furthering rail passenger service in Washington State.
Tom Martin
passed away December 21, 1997 in Vancouver, WA due to illness. He was on the WashARP Board of Directors before his illness, and was one of WashARP founding members. Lloyd Flem and Jim Hamre attended his funeral,
which was held Saturday, December 27, 1997.
Bob Hackley
passed away February 19, 1997 due to a Brain Tumor. He was on the WashARP Board of Directors before his illness overtook him about two years ago. On Monday, March 3, 1997, Bob got his final wish, and his cremated
remains were carried with his wife in a Superliner II deluxe bedroom on the Coast Starlight between Seattle and San Jose. WashARP members and Mary's friends saw her off at King St. Station and gave a final tribute.
Harry Henkepassed away February 25, 1997 unexpectedly. He was a WashARP Board of Directors member.
