We took a little trip on New Years Eve, to see if there was any action on the Wayne County Narrow Gauge.

Early in the day, we caught No 4 and the plow leaving Cassville Yard
Although there was really much accumulation down here, we were told it was quite heavy up on the mountain
The Plow train stopped at Rosetree for water, by  now a little snow was beginning to accumulate on the blade
On the way back down to Cassville we heard a low mellow steamboat whistle, set the cameras and got a shot of No6 coming up the hill with a string of empty hoppers!!!
No6 puts on a fine show as she approaches the Roseville yard linits
Looks like Paul is Hogging and Fireing both today.  No easy task on the Hill to Rosetree
No6 eases past the wood shed to to the water tower
Paul slows her down right on the money
Later the same day, we cought No6 on a different train, this time pushing some hoppers, with a boxcar of supplies in tow. We were able to get ahead of the train at Summit curve, and catch the train coming across Ann's Creek Trestle
Nice Close angle as she charges across the bridge!
When we got back to Cassville, we found Old No1 simmering on the main.
Tom McCormick is at the throttle as No1 makes up a train.
She's all steamed up with a train tied to 'er tail!
Tom's got the safty valves popping as Ol No1 comes up on the Anns Creek  Trestle
The little mogul is really working hard as she comes up on Summit Curve!
She don't do too bad for an old gal as she swings around the curve. The throttle is wide open as Tom brings Ol No1 into Rosetree yard
After the hard grade up the mountain, No1 eases up to the tank for a well deserved drink
Jed Smith and Buster pass through Rosetree with the Explosives car
Interestingly, no one seemed to have an record of a run or request from the magazine at Cassville, Jed would only comment that he was after some Potent substances!
