      7/8 scale or 1:13 if ya prefer is what I consider my primary scale.  Models are BIG and make a great visual impact when seen outdoors.  7/8 is traditionally (at least so far) a scratchbuilder's scale and everything from the track to the locomotives are scratchbuilt.  Currently the only thing that I can't fabricate in house are the actual wheelsets.  While 7/8 on 45 mm track represents 2 ft narrow gauge, I prefer to tippy toe around the gauge question all together and just call it "narrow."
