The following information is courtesy of Mr. Ray Weart. The regularly scheduled CN haulage trains will retain their CN numeric symbols. The CN haulage UNIT trains (Grain-Potash-Sulphur etc.) will have WC Alpha Symbols while operating on the WC. Locals and yard jobs will KEEP their old symbols (L5150, FL089, etc). Long term will probably see new symbols for WC unit trains (Ore-Coke-Coal, etc) established. Here is how the new train symbols break down. "NBST2T-24" The 1st two letters are the originating station. In this case, NB for New Brighton, MN. The 2nd two letters are the terminating station. In this case, Stevens Point, WI. 2T means the 2nd train running this day under this symbol. "T" is the train type, "T" Thru train, "Z" Intermodal, "L" Local, "P" Passenger etc. 24 is the date the train runs of the current month. An extra train would be symboled XNBST2T-24, "X" being for Extra. Below is the a listing for station abbreviations for use under this new system.
