  • 01/01/1951 : Robert Mc Farlane is elected president of the Northern Pacific Railway.

  • 06/03/1951 : Great Northern Railway's Western Star passenger train begins service.

  • 04/15/1952 : Spokane Portland & Seattle Railway's Scribner Turn is put into service.

  • 11/15/1952 : Last run for the Northern Pacific Railway's passenger train, The Alaskan.

  • 03/23/1953 : Great Northern Railway's last steam train to run in the Cascades Mts. of Washington.
