           The Cape Fear Railroaders/Cape Fear Chapter #133, of the National Railway Historical Society Inc., is the local Railfan and Model Railroading club in Fayetteville, NC.  We are incorporated as a non-profit Historical and Educational organization, dedicated to keeping the history of railroading alive.

Our Mission

  1. to preserve the historical materials of railway transportation of all kinds;
  2. to collection of data on the history of transportation and to issue publications relating to the subject;
  3. to encourage rail transportation;
  4. to promote greater fellowship between those persons interested in railroads, railroading, and modeling the same;
  5. to provide opportunities for the interchange of information and about railroads and their practices;
  6. to promote and/or conduct restoration of railroad equipment;
  7. to promote the practice of the hobby of scale model railroading;
  8. to provide for the construction and operation of a model railroad layouts; and
  9. to acquire by purchase, lease, or otherwise, real and personal property, and to mortgage, sell, deed, or otherwise manage same in a manner appropriate for museum and the above mentioned purposes.

Chapter Profile

                The Cape Fear Railroaders/Cape Fear Chapter #133, of the National Railway Historical Society Inc., sponsors and operates the Atlantic Coast Line Depot Railroad Historical Center.  We are always looking for people, like you, who enjoy railroading. Members enjoy railroad history, historical preservation, railfaning (watching trains), slide and video presentations, and discussion of rail-related topics.  Past activities have included running a model railroad show and sale, trips to other rail museums and shows, and operating a model railroad displays at the mall and country fair.  Future activities planned are the future development of the Historical Center, getting and restoring a Caboose, Railfan trips, and to take model layouts to shows around the area.
