The Pines and Prairies S Scale Workshop has decided to kick-off the Lake Special 99 Convention at the Fall S Fest in Chicago with a special promotion. Anyone registering and including the purchase price of a convention car, at the S Fest prior to 12:00 noon on Saturday November 7, will receive a bonus of $9.95 off the registration fees. This is in addition to the $20 early registration bonus. If you are unable to attendthe S Fest, take heart. This promotion is also extended to all mail-in registrations which are received before Thursday, November 5, 1998.
The PPSSW will also hold a drawing at the S Fest at 12:00 noon Saturday November 7 for all of those for whom registrations have been received by that time.
If we have received at least 10 registrations, then we will draw for a free Convention Golf Shirt. If we have at least 20 registrations, then in addition to drawing for the Golf Shirt, we will give away one of the Pacific Rail Shops SOO Potato Reefer kits. For 30 registrations, we will add adrawing for a set of the S Helper Service M&StL Hopper cars (2 bay plus 3 bay). Finally, if we receive at least 45 registrations there will be a "Grand Prize" drawing for which we will "tear up the registration check" for the winner. By this, we mean that the convention registration plus any and all convention cars, convention Golf shirt, banquet purchases, etc. will be free for the winning individual.
