The Montana Central is a small regonal in Central Montana, its main yard and command center is in Lewistown where it connects to the Burlington Northern. Set between 1978 and 1985 (also a second up to date era) the motive power on the Montana Central is all Alco with the exception of one Baldwin switcher, the BN power seen on run throughs and the few locals vary from various Alco RS3's to then new B30-7A's and GP38-2's. The most common BN units are various F units mainly F9A's (well when i get some!) and SD40-2's, intresting power lash ups can often be seen on the Montana Central with small Alco road switchers and SD45's in the same train. The layout is set in a small industrial district south of Lewistown, the local industries are: Cement, Lumber mill, Metal fabrication plant, food distribution warehouse, a general freight warehouse, a petrolchemical plant and a local grain terminal. |
