Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to the new Pittsburgh Railfan Online! This is the newest version of my website. On the pages within this site you will find photos of my personal collection from the greater Pittsburgh, PA area as well as other locations cross the United States. Enjoy!

Background

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania or the "Steel City" as it is known by many is located at the confluence of the Allegheny River to the North and the Monongahela River to the South which come together to form the Ohio River. These three rivers make it the largest inland port in the nation. Pittsburgh is home to nearly 330,00 people. Many of the largest influences on the railroad industry have roots in Pittsburgh. Amongst the many major corporations are Gorge Westinghouse's Union Switch and Signal and Westinghouse Electric Co. Thomas Mellon's Alcoa and Andrew Carnegie's rise from superintendent of the Pennsylvania Railroad to being a steel monarch. With this web site, I hope to give you a glimpse of current day railroading throughout the city as well as other parts of the country through my personal photo collection.

[TrainWeb Editor's Note: The main home page that I found at this website didn't link to many of the web pages and photos that the web author had uploaded to this website. To fix this problem I searched the archive for a previous version of this home page that seemed the most valid and uploaded it. I then added links to every page and photo that I found at this website to the Photos page.]
