MKT GP39-2 # 385, a former Kennecott Copper unit still wearing its original coat of yellow paint, was at UP's ex-Katy yard in Dallas in October 1990. The 385 was delivered to Kennecott with an extra-large, high visibility cab, which the Katy replaced with a standard cab when it acquired the locomotive. The engine retained its distinctive, high-clearance fuel tank, however.
