We conclude our look at Tehachapi by watching a long trailer train negotiate the famed loop from a vantage point on top Tunnel 10. We see Santa Fe Dash 8-40CW 897 with its train double back on itself in the valley as it makes its approach to Tunnel 9.

Shortly thereafter, the head-end power is travelling over the top of Tunnel 9 as the helpers poke out below.

The head-end power is just about ready to duck into Tunnel 10 as the helpers are just beginning to emerge from behind the knoll in the center of the loop. The entire train is stretched out on the loop. Shortly, a maintenance window will close down the line for several hours. It's time to move on.
