This is the more typical view at Sunnyside. Ice and snow storms all during the week of the trip ensured that white stuff would be on the ground. (1/16/99)

The Thursday trip was brought to an abrupt halt when WM 734 derailed on an ice-packed dirt crossing above Woodcock Hollow Road. The crew spent many hours not only fixing this derailment, but clearing frozen switches, dealing with frozen brakes and generally making the best of adverse weather conditions during the event - but they stayed cheerful through it all! An appreciative photo line shoots WM 734 approaching the Sunnyside overlook. With only 80 participants, the trip provided small photo lines for optimizing runby locations. (1/16/99)

From the Sunnyside overlook we see the freight passing through Sunnyside on a cold day (see the top photo on this page for a scene of Sunnyside at track level). (1/15/99)

The following day the sun was out at Sunnyside, making for a dramatically different picture. (1/16/99)
