Though they are not a railcar to themselves, the MoPac trailer was an integral part of TOFC service. The Missouri Pacific accumulated an enormous and varied trailer fleet, being a pioneer in trailer and container use on the rails. The common site of these old cargo carriers still seen dispersed thoughout the system's territory, bear as a witness to their importance on the MoPac. Today these trailers are now relegated to use as sheds or M.ofW. duties.

M.P. semi trailer MPZ 250496 was part of MoPac's piggyback equipment in the 1980's, as well as part of the Missouri Pacific Truck Lines. The MPTL owned a fleet of blue tractor rigs for hauling these trailers off-line -- extending the reach of the railroad, thus becoming more competitive with the trucking industry. The streamlined 40' trailer sits in the U.P. yard, Lincoln, Nebraska.
