The smoke from 734 blasted skyward, obscuring the sun for many runbys such as this one on the approach to Brush Tunnel. (1/16/99)

From inside Brush Tunnel we see the approaching freight train. The photo line was stretched across the tracks inside the tunnel, with the locomotive stopping 20 feet short of the photo line. (1/16/99)

TT1506

Consolidation 734 blasts out of the west end of Brush Tunnel. To achieve this effect, the locomotive was backed only a couple of feet inside the portal, then came blasting forward. (1/14/99)

TT1507

About half way to Frostburg the smoke was dramatically back-lit. This was one of about 15 runbys performed each day. (1/16/99)

TT1508

Sunnyside provides an open clearing for runbys with a long straight-away to watch the approaching train. WM 734 smokes it up through Sunnyside at sunset. (1/16/99)
