The D78 Stock is due (in fact overdue) for a refurbishment programme. To date only one unit only one unit has been refurbished as a trial - and even it has only the Trailer Car internally modified.

It has been announced that Bombardier will be the contractor for the programme, though further details of the extent of the programme have not yet been finalised.

These pictures were taken in Ealing Common depot shortly before the unit went into service for trials and to test customer reaction.
